Our Mission

At Allay Therapy PLLC, our mission is to create a space where healing feels safe, grounded, and deeply personal—where you can allay overwhelm, slow down, feel understood, and begin to reconnect with yourself at a pace that feels right for you.

Why We Work Differently

Do you feel like you go from zero to one hundred in a split second, only to be flooded by a wave of guilt and shame immediately after?

You aren't dramatic. Your nervous system is just tired. Let’s change that together.

We integrate EMDR, CBT, and somatic interventions to support nervous system regulation, process trauma, and promote cognitive and somatic integration for improved emotional regulation and adaptive functioning.

Why You’re Here

If you are reading this, you might be exhausted from riding an emotional roller coaster. Maybe a small trigger sets off a massive wave of anger or panic, leaving you trapped in a painful loop of guilt and toxic shame. You might feel like you are 'too much' or constantly fighting your own brain. I want you to know: you are not broken, and you are not dramatic. Your nervous system is simply stuck in survival mode. In our Edinburg office, we create a safe, face-to-face space where you can finally lay that heavy armor down.

How We Work

True healing doesn't happen just by talking. To break the cycle of emotional reactivity, we have to address your thoughts, your memories, and your physical body. That is why my practice blends three powerful, evidence-based approaches: CBT to help you catch and reshape the negative thought patterns driving your shame, EMDR to process and desensitize the deep root traumas causing your triggers, and Somatic Therapy to release the physical tension and anxiety trapped inside your nervous system.

My Philosophy on Shame

Shame thrives in secret, and it convinces us that we are the problem rather than our experiences. My approach focuses heavily on shame resilience. Together, we will dismantle the harsh inner critic that tells you you're a failure after an emotional outburst. By combining cognitive awareness with bodily tracking, you will learn to replace self-judgment with self-compassion, transforming your relationship with your emotions from a battle into a partnership.

Why In-Person Care Matters in the RGV

In a world that has largely shifted to cold computer screens, I firmly believe in the deep healing power of physical proximity. Healing emotional reactivity requires a felt sense of safety. Sitting together in my Edinburg office allows us to co-regulate, track physical somatic cues in real time, and do deep work without the distractions or tech glitches of virtual formats. You get a dedicated, private sanctuary right here in the Rio Grande Valley.
